Chapter Two, Page Two: Going the Wrong Direction

Monday, November 2: I figured out why I was unhappy with the three-card reading from last night as I let David cut the deck: I placed the cards in the wrong direction. I made a note in my notebook to always go widdershins, in case I went stupid again.

I always get excited when I get a major arcana card, like it's a prize I've earned by being extra good.  I think it's because the meaning of most of the major arcana is so clear to me — except for a couple I find tricky and elusive, like the Magician and Emperor.
