Chapter Two, Page Five: The Same Card

Thursday, November 5:  I gave myself permission to sit in front of the television and watch the Latin Grammys tonight.  I know enough Spanish to get myself in trouble — and listening to so many people speak in so many different ways made me think of the Tarot.

The books I enjoy may use images from a few different decks in their explanation, but most decks point card definitions toward a common idea.  The Herbal Tarot is not completely different from the Morgan-Greer Tarot.  The images are varied, like the accents of the Spanish speakers I heard tonight, but they're all saying the same words.

So, David and I went for a single card reading.  It was late, I was tired and so was he.

David's card:

My card:

The same card!  Out of 78 cards, with intense shuffling and cutting, we get the same card.  Crazy!  Makes me wonder how our emotional choices are coming along....
